B G Davis

B G  Davis age 82 of Caldwell, OH passed away Tuesday evening, September 30, 2014 at his home. He was born May 14, 1932 in Morgan County, Ohio a son of the late Virgil and Essie Roberts Davis.

B.G. attended the former Meigs School in Morgan County. He was a journeyman lineman for 42 years and a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union #71. He retired as a General Foreman for the Bruce and Merrilees Electric Company in the Columbus Division.

He was an active member of the Caldwell Church of Christ, where he had previously served as a deacon and trustee. He enjoyed riding his four wheeler with friends and family. In his later years, he drove his beloved golf cart.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers Mildred, Martha, Forest, Hilda, Richard, John and Wayne.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Patty Davis, whom he married August 30, 1952; son Don Davis of Port Washington, OH and daughter Debbie (James) Rutledge of LaGrange, OH. He was blessed with four granddaughters Jane (Matt) Stiers of Lancaster, OH, Jackie (Steve) Muetzel of Lancaster, Katie (Steve) Saad of Williamsburg, VA and Amy Rutledge of North Ridgeville, OH. Also five great-granddaughters Charity, Kyrsta, Alexis, Alayna, Molly and two more on the way; sister Shirley (Robert) Hicks of Columbus, OH. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.

Friends will be received Thursday, October 2, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A funeral service will be held Friday, October 3, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Jim Garrett officiating. Burial will follow in the Center Free Methodist Church Cemetery.
