Barbara Jane (Pickinpaugh) Reed age 83 of Caldwell, OH passed away Monday, April 13, 2026 following a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Born October 29, 1942 in Noble County, OH, Barbara was the beloved daughter of the late Donald and Mildred (Lawrence) Pickinpaugh of Sharon, OH.

As an only child, Barbara grew up on her family farm, where she learned the values of hard work, dedication, and love for the land – values she carried with her throughout her life.

Alongside her husband of sixty-four years, Larry Reed, they built a life on their farm. Together, they raised three daughters: Pamela Poling, Amy (Bob) Cline, and Mindy (Randy) Lowe.

She was a proud and loving grandmother to Carly (Jonathan) Harrison, Zachary (Hailey) Cline, Paige (Cory) McGilton, Conner (Makala) Poling, Mahaylie Cline, Tanner Harding, Carson Cline, and Camden Lowe, as well as bonus granddaughters Kailey and Rachel Lowe. She was also blessed with six great-grandchildren: Axton, Tripp, and Boston McGilton, Wrenna Cline, Oakley Harrison, and Remi Poling.

Barbara was a graduate of the former Belle Valley High School. She was a member of Sharon Grange, Eastern Star, and Good Neighbors Quilting Club. For thirty years, she was a Sharon Township Clerk. She dedicated many years as a Girl Scout leader, 4-H advisor, and Caldwell High School Band Parent. Over the years, she attended Olive Green Methodist Church and Sharon Presbyterian Church.

Barbara had a deep interest in genealogy, taking pride in preserving her family’s history. She loved to sew, harvest and preserve vegetables from the garden, quilt with friends, attend Caldwell High School sporting events, care for animals (especially baby lambs), watch her favorite shows, and talk with friends on the phone.

She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.

The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation Thursday, April 16, 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A memorial service will conclude visitation Thursday, April 16, 2026 at 2:00 PM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with Ken Perkins officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Sharon Cemetery.
