Irene Helen Peters, 85 of Caldwell Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2026. She was born on Feb. 6, 1941, to William Shilinski and Theresa (Nau) Shilinski.

Irene was sincere in manner, courageous in spirit, known for her kind heart, and gave all her love to anyone she met. She had several hobbies throughout her life, from cooking/baking, growing flowers, wood crafting/painting, fishing and her personal favorite, crocheting. Irene also worked at Best Western Caldwell Inn for many years where she made lifelong friends, before retiring in 2011.

She cherished every moment with her loving husband Nelson, whom she married on April 15, 1972. Beyond her marriage, she deeply treasured her family, friendships, and the little moments that brought everyone together.

She is survived by her husband Nelson, sons: Brian Peters and Stephen Ross, daughter Sherri (Bryan) Tucker. Grandchildren: David Mitchell, Morgan Hughes, Zach (Gracey) Hughes, Taylor (Tyler) Croft. Great grandchildren: Rylan, Hope, Kobe, Adria, Kolsyn, Titan and another great grandson arriving soon.

Irene will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her delicious recipes, her beautiful crocheted pieces, her big heart, and warming hugs. All the love she gave will continue to live on through her family and the people who knew her.

Cremation will be observed with no additional services to be held at this time. Chandler Funeral Home 609 West Street has been entrusted to care for the family.
