Darwin D. Garvin, 90 of Caldwell, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2026 at Summit Acres Nursing Home. He was born on Feb. 19, 1936, to Irvil and Edna Garvin of Three Forks.
Darwin graduated from Caldwell High School and became an Ohio State Patrol Officer before moving on to the Federal Department of Transportation. After retirement, he started his own Trucking Consulting Company with famous clients such as Willie Nelson.
Darwin was a man of few words with snappy wit who loved hunting, fishing, auto racing and a good cold beer. Darwin always had a soft spot for his puppies.
Darwin was preceded in death by his parents Irvil and Edna Garvin, his son Daniel Garvin, his siblings Ronnie, Marion, George, and Dale Garvin, Ruth Hendershot, and Gladys Windland.
He is survived by one sister Doris Wagner, three sons Donovan, David W., and Darren Garvin. One daughter Rhonda Weikle. Five grandkids Jamie, Derek, Sarah, David D. and Autumn Garvin. Five great-grandkids Alex, Abby, and Noah Hoover, Sadie and Chase Garvin.
Graveside services will be held at Dudley Cemetery June 20, 2026 at 11 a.m. with a celebration of life dinner to follow at the Wolf Run Pavilion. Please join us in remembering Darwin with friends, family and good food.
