Cynthia “Cindy” Lee Watson age 61, of Cumberland, OH passed away Sunday, June 21, 2026 surrounded by her loving family at Genesis Hospice Morrison House in Zanesville, OH. She was born July 17, 1964 in Ravenna, OH daughter of the late Wes Russell and Betty Lawton.

Cindy was a 1982 graduate of Cambridge High School and had been employed with Northside Oxygen and Medical Equipment for more than 27 years. She was a devoted member of the Cumberland United Methodist Church, where she served as President of the United Women of Faith. Cindy was also a member of the Ohio Star Quilt Guild and dedicated many years as a 4-H advisor, helping guide and encourage local youth.

A talented baker, Cindy lovingly made a homemade birthday cake for each member of her family every year. Her cookies, cakes, and buckeyes were well known and frequently earned blue ribbon honors at the Guernsey County Fair. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and spending time outdoors, especially tending to her beloved sunflowers. Above all, Cindy cherished her family. Nothing brought her greater joy than her grandchildren, and she rarely missed an opportunity to support them at sporting events, 4-H activities, and county fair projects.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law Dana and Janet Watson; brother-in-law Dennis Watson.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 41 years Mack Watson, whom she married August 18, 1984; daughters Jessica (Paul) Lamb of Pleasant City, OH, Sara (Justin) Wickham of New Concord, OH, and Katie Watson of Cumberland; grandchildren Jacob, Cole and Brody Lamb, and Mason and Mack Wickham; siblings Bobby (Kristen) Russell, Shawn Russell, Brett (Amy) Russell, and Eric Grubb; step-mother Rosalind Russell; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Margaret Watson of Knoxville, TN, Donna (Todd) Jasper of Zanesville, OH, and Jim (Christy) Watson of Zanesville, OH; her baby dogs Hank, Copper, and Elphaba. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends for visitation Saturday, June 27, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Cumberland United Methodist Church, 441 West Main Street, Cumberland, OH 43732. A funeral service will conclude visitation at 1:00 PM in the Church with Pastor Keith Taylor and Pastor Rodney Parson co-officiating. Burial will follow in the Cumberland Cemetery. Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724 has been entrusted to care for the family.
