John Thomas Palmer Jr.

John Thomas “Baby Jackass” Palmer Jr. age 49 of Cambridge, OH passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at the Select Specialty Hospital in Newark, OH. He was born October 12, 1973 in Guernsey County, OH, a son of the late John Thomas Palmer Sr. and Betty Marlene Smith Bell.

He participated in the Special Olympics for several years and attended the Day Hab at RHDD. He liked to shop, car rides, and going to Starbucks. His favorite daily meal was 2-3 sausage McMuffins and a large chocolate milkshake.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a nephew and a great-niece.

Those left to cherish his memory are a brother Raymond Scott Jr. of Cambridge; 3 sisters Bunnie Scott of Cambridge, Sherri Choma of Cambridge, and Betty “Buttons” Wallace of New Philadelphia, OH. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Many friends and extended family will also grieve the loss of Johnny.

The family will receive friends for visitation Friday, January 27, 2023 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM and Saturday, January 28, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A funeral service will conclude visitation Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 1:00 PM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Rick Tanner officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to assist the family c/o the Chandler Funeral Home.
