Gail Elizabeth Tonnous age 67, of Pleasant City, OH passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at the Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital in Canton, OH. She was born May 4, 1958 in Cambridge, OH a daughter of the late Moses S. and Glenna O. Spurrier Tonnous.

She was an animal lover and could often be found playing with her cats. Gail will be remembered for her artistic nature; she enjoyed drawing and crafting. She was a member of St. Mary’s of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fulda, OH.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by sisters Sonnie K. Budai and Donna Gordon; brother Richard “Dick” Tonnous; brother-in-law Mike Cowgill; nieces & nephews Adam Deegan, Yvonne Tonnous, Ursula Huey, and Brent Tonnous.

Those left to cherish her memory are brothers Thomas (Cheryl) Tonnous of Caldwell, OH, and Paul (Tina) Tonnous of Byesville, OH; sisters Cecilia “Sis” (Don) Roby of Byesville, OH, Cynthia McAuley of Cambridge, OH, Maureen Cowgill of Cumberland, OH, Frances Tonnous of Cambridge, OH, Veronica (Bill) McConkey of Cambridge, OH, Ruth (Ronnie) Smith of Caldwell, and Carol (Joe) Arp of Pima, AZ; sister-in-law Teri Tonnous of Homeworth, OH. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Private services will be observed by the family. Inurnment will be held in St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery in Fulda, OH at a later date.
