James "Jim" F. Dimmerling

James “Jim” F. Dimmerling age 53, of Gahanna, OH passed away Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Ohio State East Hospital in Columbus, OH following a brief illness. He was born February 18, 1971 in Columbus a son of Paul F. and Maureen T. Forshey Dimmerling of Caldwell, OH.

He was an avid sports fan, he especially liked following the Ohio State Buckeyes football team. Jim could often be found playing sports and games with his two sons. He loved his family tremendously. Jim looked forward to visiting the beach and spending time in the ocean on their vacations. He enjoyed golfing for many years and grilling for his family. Jim was a 1989 graduate of Caldwell High School. He was employed by FedEx Office for over 27 years.

He is preceded in death by a brother John Paul Dimmerling and his fathers-in-law Edward Naumann and Martin “Marty” Meeker.

Those left to cherish his memory, in addition to his parents are his wife Michelle L. Naumann Dimmerling, whom he married September 18, 2002; two sons Brett and Trey Dimmerling; sister Ann (Nick) Cervi of Pataskala, OH; four brothers Bruce Dimmerling of Caldwell, Brian (Rebecca) Dimmerling of Perrysburg, OH, Lee J. Dimmerling of Columbus, and Ryan (Tess) Dimmerling of Powell, OH; mother-in-law Marcia Meeker of Ontario, OH; sister-in-law Rebecca (Dan) Meginnis of Westerville, OH; brother-in-law Michael (Cindy) Naumann of Saxton, PA. He is also survived by a large extended family and many friends.

The family will receive friends for visitation Friday, April 5, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Father Thomas Nelson officiating. Services will conclude at the funeral home and inurnment will be held at a later date in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Caldwell.
