To the family of Bob,
I was in a retail Loss Prevention Group with Bob back in 2003. We spoke many times and I always remembered his gracious and peaceful demeanor, even in tough business matters. We lost touch a few years after and I am saddened to have learned of his passing in a recent trade post. My condolences to his spouse and children and his family and friends. I wish you comfort in this difficult time and I will say a prayer for Bob.

To The Petelin Family my sincere condolences for your loss. I am a old friend of Bob's, we went to school together all the way through college (Tri-C). Bob even attended my wedding in 1979. I had not seen him for many years. He was a great guy, a good friend and I have many fond memories throughout our school days. I know he will be missed. Sorry I couldn't attend. Bob may be gone but will always be remembered:
An infectious smile and positive influence on others that was unmatched.
A true leader who followed his own path and enjoyed life to its fullest.
A person who viewed every day as a "great day!"
So many wonderful memories of Bob: Playing tag on the St. Ambrose playground, being team members on very successful football and baseball high school teams, and camping with our families and laughing so hard he made my stomach hurt.
Bob, I will always cherish my time with you this August, admiring your outlook on life despite great odds, especially with your focus not being about you, but Judy and your family. A true inspiration for a wonderful and lasting memory.
I love you, man!

When you use the words "Nobody quite like him"...that really was Bob! As my eyes cloud, it is both from sadness and from smiling at all the great "Robert A. Petelin Memories". Nobody could make you laugh like Bob! His facial expressions should have been on a TV comedy! I miss his deer jerky...likewise I will never eat another chicken wing without thinking of Bob and toasting my dear friend! Here's to you Bob!!!
