Thomas “Tom” R. Secrest age 79, of Quaker City, OH passed away suddenly Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at his home. He was born September 9, 1941 in Cambridge, a son of the late Arthur R. and Katherine Thompson Secrest.
Tom was an avid horseman and outdoorsman; he enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing. He was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church in Temperanceville, OH. He was retired from the former Mahle Plant in Caldwell following 49 plus years of service. He also worked for Meadowbrook High School and at the Wilds.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Stephanie J. Thomas Secrest, whom he married October 15, 1983; 2 children Stacey (Dave) Kirkey of Plain City, OH and Justin (Jennifer) Secrest of Springfield, VA; 2 stepchildren Konna (Steve) Pekarcik of Columbus, OH and Shawn (Jen) Carpenter of Dublin, OH; 10 grandchildren; siblings Myron (Clara Belle) Secrest of Pleasant City, OH and Sara Jane (Dan) Chmiel of South Boston, VA; his dog and good buddy Sock. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will receive friends for visitation Saturday, October 31, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A funeral service will conclude visitation at 1:00 PM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Father Dave Cornett officiating. Cremation will follow with inurnment held at a later date.
