Robert "Bob" McElfresh Obituary

Robert “Bob” Dean McElfresh age 88, of Caldwell, OH passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 2, 1934 in Summerfield, OH a son of the late Edward E. and Bessie B. Snyder McElfresh.

 

He served and protected his Nation in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He co-owned and operated the former Tri County Service and Supply in Sharon. Bob retired from Mid-East Ohio Vocational Schools having been the instructor for two different programs, Building Trades and HVAC-R. He was the past director and president of the Pure Water Company.

 

He was a member of the Caldwell Church of Christ, where he loved helping with vacation bible school and was a member of the “Craft Staff.” He was also a member of the Belle Valley American Legion Post #641 and the Noble County Historical Society. Bob was a very active Mason, he was a 60-year member and Past Master of the Sharon Lodge #136 F. & A.M., Past District Deputy Grand Master for the 18th District, and a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and attending all their events. He enjoyed vacationing with his family at Disney World and the beach.

 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister Margie Martin; two brothers Donald and Billy McElfresh; mother-in-law Geneva Foraker.

 

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Patty McElfresh, whom he married May 24, 1980; children Kimberley (Brett) Burns of Naples, FL, Shelley (Bill) Barlock of Cambridge, OH, Benjy (Chasity) Thompson, Brandey (Joey) Mincks, and Kelsey (Zeb) Hallowell all of Caldwell; grandchildren David Burns, Sophey Barlock, Paetyn, Paezlee, Prezdyn, Pairys, and Parkyr Thompson, Boone and Bronner Mincks; great-grandson Landon Wilson; sister Evelyn Wheeler of Caldwell; father-in-law Dana Foraker of Caldwell. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and special friends.

 

The family will receive friends for visitation Friday, February 24, 2023 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724, with Masonic Services conducted at 7:30 PM. A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 11:00 AM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with Kris Bright officiating. Burial will follow in the Sharon Cemetery, with military graveside services conducted by the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations.
