Michael Wheeler Obituary

Michael A. Wheeler age 36, of Cumberland, OH passed away as a result of a motorcycle accident Saturday, May 28, 2022 at the Genesis Hospital in Zanesville, OH. He was born August 28, 1985 in Cambridge, OH a son of Gregory A. Wheeler of Cumberland and Denise (Steve) Nau of Byesville, OH.

 

He was a 2004 graduate of the Meadowbrook High School and the Mid-East Career & Technology Center in Buffalo. He went on to serve and protect his Nation in the United States Army, having served 18 months in Iraq. Michael enjoyed flying remote control airplanes, farming, hunting, fishing, and riding his motorcycle. He enjoyed listening to classic rock and country music. He gave the gift of life through organ donation.

 

He is preceded in death by grandfathers Roy Cunningham and Elvin Wheeler; uncles Jeffrey and Elvin “Butch” Wheeler II.

 

In addition to his parents Gregory and Denise, those left to cherish his memory are his 3 daughters Hayley Lynch, Allison Wheeler, and Michelle Wheeler all of South Carolina; grandmother Peggy Cunningham of Cumberland; siblings Hope Sayre, Stephen Nau Jr., Jason Moore Jr., Duane Dilley, and Adam Schockling; the mother of his children Tonya Baggett of South Carolina; his dog Bud. He is also survived by many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

 

The family will receive friends for visitation Thursday, June 2, 2022 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A funeral service will conclude visitation Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 5:00 PM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Keith Taylor officiating. Military Honors will follow the service at the funeral home conducted by the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations. Cremation will then be observed, with inurnment to be held at a later date in the Hoskinsville Cemetery.
