Leonard W. Danford

Leonard W. Danford age 86, of Caldwell, OH passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at the Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta, OH. He was born March 2, 1937 in Noble County, OH a son of the late Wayne and Estelene Harding Danford.

He was a member of the First Church of Christ in Caldwell and attended the Caldwell Church of Christ. Leonard served in the Army National Guard Reserves. He enjoyed mowing and taking care of his yard. He could often be found watching western movies and listening to country music. For several years, he along with his wife Maxine enjoyed square dancing and traveling. He was retired from King Limestone.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son Val Burkitt.

Those left to cherish his memory, are his wife Maxine G. West Danford whom he married June 29, 1979; children Stacey (Randy) Urbaniak, Shane (Jeff) Danford, and Stephanie (Mike) Starkey all of Marietta, Laura (Randy) Postlethwait of Caldwell, and Bryce Burkitt of Columbus; grandchildren Geoff Urbaniak, Heath (Gabby) Urbaniak, Arial (Matt) Urbaniak, Jake Brown, Brooke Brown, Sharon (Daniel) Pakes, and Kent (Marissa) Radcliff; great-grandchildren Shelby, Damon, Brenner, Elliott, and Bennett; sister Genelda Young of Woodsfield, OH. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Cremation will be observed and the family will receive friends for a memorial visitation Sunday, March 19, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A time of sharing will follow visitation Sunday, March 19, 2023 at 4:00 PM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel.
