Kenneth M. “Sonny” Monroe age 61, of Quaker City, OH formerly of Mantua, OH passed away unexpectedly Saturday, October 21, 2023. He was born September 15, 1962 in Bedford, OH a son of Columbia Anderson Barnauskas of Barnesville, OH and the late Kenneth Monroe.
He loved to go out to eat and watch sports on the television. He had attended Tomorrow’s Corner in St. Clairsville, OH for several years. He attended the Kennonsburg Church and had previously attended the Lakeview Chapel in Aurora, OH, where he was involved in their puppet ministry. His participation in this ministry allowed him to travel abroad and do missionary work. Kenneth brought light and joy to everyone he encountered.
In addition to his father, he is also preceded in death by his stepfather Charles Barnauskas.
Those left to cherish his memory, in addition to his mother Columbia are his three sisters Shelley (John) Blackburn in Quaker City, Columbia Monroe of Seven Hills, OH, and Valerie Monroe of Ravenna, OH; step-siblings Cathy (Leroy) Delair of Ravenna, Bill (Peggy) Barnauskas of Clinton, MI, Ruth (Bob) Borway of Tallmadge, OH, Richard (Donna) Barnauskas of Ravenna, and Kevin (Michelle) Barnauskas of Mantua. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Cremation will be observed, a memorial service will be held Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Kennonsburg Church (57599 Kennonsburg Rd) in Salesville, Ohio. Chandler Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724 has been entrusted to care for the family.
