Jolene Hayes Obituary

Jolene Hayes, 90, passed into her heavenly home Wednesday, December 22, 2021. Her memory will be cherished by her daughter LaWayne (Robert) Smith and her son Cameron (Vicki) Hayes, her beloved dog, Remington and her loving family.

She was born in Whigville, Ohio on June 9, 1931 to the late Kenneth and Freda Franklin Guiler and always fondly recalled of her childhood, including walking to her one room school and later attending Summerfield High School. She was a Golden Gopher to the end.

After graduation, Jolene met Wayne Hayes. They were married for 69 years; lived and reared their children at 809 Walnut Street while Wayne worked at JB Hayes and Sons and Jolene was a homemaker. She found joy in sewing, quilting, crocheting, and gardening. Jolene was destined to be the best grandma and great-grandma possible.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Wayne B. Hayes, whom she married June 19, 1949, and who passed away September 27, 2018.

She will be missed by all of her grandchildren. Clint and Kim Hayes (Ava, Breckin, Adri, Ali, and Anna), John and Liz Smith (Teddy and Owen), Heather and Rob Stillion (Bryce and Colette), Travis and Meghan Smith (Selah, Samuel, and Silas), Mitch and Ashlee Hayes (Reese, Knox, Hayden, and Deacon), Tara and Sushant Bhardwaj (Aran and Anna), and Jadon Smith.

At her request cremation will be observed and her ashes will be conveyed to the cemetery at Whigville Community Church where she and Wayne attended. Donations in her name may be made to the Whigville Community Church, 550 Carriage Drive, Plain City, OH 43064.
