God has called his good and faithful servant John Kiener, 89, home on February 28, 2020. John was born in Orrville, Ohio, February 8, 1931, to the late John and Clara (Strawser) Kiener.
After graduating from Orrville High School, he moved to Phoenix, AZ, where he enjoyed being a professional truck driver. John moved back to Ohio and built his dream log home in Sarahsville. His passions included his love of Jesus, family and gospel music.
Preceded in death by his parents; sister Jean (John) Hostetler, wife Ila (Brannoch), wife Evelyn (Cunningham-Haueter) and son Troy.
He is survived by his wife Sharon (Carder-Backus) son Jeff (Becky) Kiener of Phoenix, and step children Esther (Gene) Burgy, Robert (Sachiko) Backus, Bryan (Erica) Backus, Jill (Jim) Clay, Karen Haueter, Georgia (Carl) Hummel, Jan Rohrig, Vickie (Mark) Vance and, 24 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be held this summer. Memorial contributions may be made in John’s name directly to Marietta Home Health & Hospice, 450 Pike Street, Marietta, OH 45750.
