James Byron Rainer age 39, of Dexter City, OH passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at his home. He was born March 28, 1981 in Beverly, OH a son of Kathy Sue Baker of Zanesville, OH and Randy M. (Tami) Rainer of Dexter City.
James was a 1999 graduate of the Caldwell High School where he excelled in football and wrestling. He also attended the Mid-East Career and Technology Center in Zanesville where he studied diesel tech. He loved hunting and fishing. He could often be found out on his boat. He was a kind soul and a friend to anyone he ever met.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Byron and Carolyn Baker; paternal grandparents Alvin and Myrta Rainer; niece Kelsey Marie Henthorne and uncles Claude Rainer and Tom Staats.
In addition to his parents, those left to cherish his memory are his daughter Haleigh O’Brien of Churchtown, OH; 2 brothers Randy Rainer of Dexter City and Jonathan (Jessica) Rainer of Sanger, TX; nieces and nephews Brett Rainer, Damien (Taylor) Hallowell, Riley Gibson, and Leah Rainer; great-nieces Lilly Rose and Rynlee Hallowell. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
The family will receive friends for visitation Thursday, October 8, 2020 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 609 West Street, Caldwell, Ohio 43724. A funeral service will conclude visitation at 5:00 PM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Matthew Blackwell and Pastor Greg Marquis co-officiating. Cremation will follow with inurnment to be held at a later date.
