Caroline L. (Theiss) Davis

Caroline Louella Davis age 92, of Caldwell, OH passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at Altercare Summit Acres Skilled Nursing & Rehab in Caldwell after a brief stay. She was born June 29, 1930 in Sligo, PA, a daughter of the late William and Alice Gourley Theiss.

She attended the Mary Reed Memorial Church at Crooked Tree. She enjoyed sewing, reading, and most of all spending time with her family. She worked and retired from the former March Electric Plant in Cambridge. She also owned and operated Caroline’s Curl Shop for many years as a licensed beautician. She later worked until she was 80 at Colgate Palmolive in Cambridge.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Larry “Phil” Davis; son William “Bill” Wilson; grandson Randy Sayre; siblings Louise Carrel, Eleanor “Tricky” Arnold, Tom Theiss, James Lincoln Theiss, and Emogene Young.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters Suzan (Bill) Johnson of Frazeysburg, OH, Kathy (Rick) Norviel of West Liberty, OH, and daughter-in-law Rita M. Wilson of Caldwell; grandchildren Michael (Melinda) Sayre, William (Kathy) Sayre, Cassie (Chuck) Weissenburger, Jennifer Norviel, R. Matthew (Kate) Norviel, and Ryan Wilson; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Don (Carolyn) Theiss of Orwell, OH, and Marie Duffalo of Caldwell; sister-in-law Nancy Theiss of Lower Salem; brothers-in-law Larry Arnold of New Lexington, OH and Bill Young of Caldwell. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, February 5, 2023 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A funeral service will be held Monday, February 6, 2023 at 10:00 AM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Crooked Tree Cemetery where she will be laid to rest near her family.
