Alva Lee Clark

Alva Lee Clark age 82, of Dexter City, OH passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at his home. He was born October 23, 1939 in Caldwell, OH a son of the late Harry Sr. and Ruby Ellen Gates Clark. He was a member of the Laborers' Local 530 in Zanesville, OH and helped to build Interstate 77 between Macksburg and Caldwell in 1966. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping. He could often be found working with his cattle. His greatest love was his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 4 brothers Walter Lewis Clark, Harry Clark Jr., Gerald Clark, and Nelson R. Clark; sister Ruth Armstrong; great-granddaughter Nevaeh Clark.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Sally L. Hardesty Clark, whom he married January 15, 1966; 2 sons Alva Thomas (Mary) Clark of Pleasant City, OH and Garry Lee Sr. (Tina) Clark of Dexter City; grandchildren Chelsea (Rodney) Clark, Aaron (Maria) Clark, Austin (Allie) Clark, Garry Lee Jr. (Jaci) Clark, David Thomas (Sara) Clark, and Clay (Kaycee) Clark; 10 great-grandchildren; sister Nellie Welling of Marietta, OH; special Nephew Eugene Hardesty. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends for visitation Friday, January 14, 2022 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 1:00 PM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Rich Freeman and Rev. William Pickenpaugh co-officiating. Cremation will follow with inurnment held at a later date.
