Wendell O. Langley, age 59, of Dexter City, OH passed away Saturday morning, May 9th, 2009 at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. He was born January 25th, 1950 in Akron, OH a son of Alberta Betts Langley and the late Guy Langley. Wendell was a lineman for Alltel for many years. He had several hobbies including hunting, gardening, blacksmithing, collecting and working on hit and miss engines. Wendell along with his wife Sue, were foster parents for over 16 years, caring for 65 children in need. He was preceded in death by his Father Guy Langley. He is survived by his Wife Susan Gaidek Langley of the home, whom he married December 20th, 1969; Two Sons Brian Langley and Jeff (Paula) Langley both of Caldwell; Five Grandchildren Sarah, Adrian and Reilly Langley, Shelby and Colby Langley; His Mother Alberta Betts Langley of Akron; Three Sisters Dena Miller of Barberton, OH, Chris (Dave) Miller of Wooster, OH and Robin (Larry) Lambes of Carlisle, OH. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends. Friends will be received Tuesday, May 12, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A Funeral Service will be Wednesday at 11:00 AM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ken Ogg Officiating, with Cremation to follow. In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests those wanting to make memorial contributions to consider the Keith United Methodist Church, C/O Irene Dillon, 38955 Dillon Road, Caldwell, OH 43724.
