Virginia Ecko Gay

Virginia Ecko Gay age 75, of Reinersville, OH passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at the Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta, OH. She was born January 30, 1946 in Charleston, WV a daughter of the late James and Virginia Thaxton Byrd.

She was a member of the New Life Church in Marietta, OH. She liked to play raffles and often won. She loved spending time with her family and adored the holidays and making them memorable for her family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Larry E. Gay whom she married December 7, 1963 and who passed away February 21, 2021; siblings Andy, Georgie, Mary, Roseberry, Hattie, Alonzo, Jacko, Charmcko, Lacko, and Vernie.

Those left to cherish her memory are 7 children Larry (Shelly) Gay Jr. of Reinersville, Joey Gay of Bristol, TN, Michael (Jill) Gay of Avon, OH, James (Teresa) Gay of Reinersville, James Gay Jr. of Center Township, OH, Virginia Lynn (Nathan) Ihrig of Reinersville, and Star Gay of Reinersville; 12 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; siblings Jimmy, Angie, Pearl, Esther, Corina, and Henry. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends for a graveside service held Friday, December 31, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the Reinersville Cemetery, with burial to follow. Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724 has been entrusted to care for the family.
