Velma Jean "Jeanie" Stottsberry age 77, of Byesville, formerly of Caldwell, passed away Saturday, February 7th, 2009 at the Summit Acres Skilled Nursing and Rehab in Caldwell. She was born May 22, 1931 in Noble County, Ohio a daughter of the late Clayton and Velma Dennis Pickenpaugh. Jean was the owner/operator of the former Jeanie's Hair Boutique in Caldwell. She was a member of the Center Free Methodist Church, Rebecca Lodge, O.E.S. Amazon Chapter #30, Caldwell B.P.W and the Curly Q's. She was a 4-h advisor as well as a Girl Scout Leader and also participated in the Noble County Performing Arts. Jean enjoyed camping, crafts, flowers and most importantly spending time with her family and grandchildren. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a Son Terry Lee Stottsberry, Five Brothers and Two Sisters. Surviving are her Husband of 58 years Wayne "Mope" Stottsberry, whom she married August 26th, 1950; Three Sons Kenny (Debra) Stottsberry of Smithville, Rick (Sue) Stottsberry of Cumberland and Jeff (Shelley) Stottsberry of Caldwell; Three daughters Bonnie (Gene) Netting of Byesville, Linda (Rodney) Reeves of Senecaville and Tresa (Roger) Patten of Caldwell; 13 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Tuesday, February 10th, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. William Pickenpaugh Officiating. Burial will follow in Hoskinsville Cemetery near Belle Valley. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimers Care, Area Agency on Aging Region 9, 60788 Southgate Road, Byesville, OH 43723.
