Thomas H. "Tom" James

Thomas H. "Tom" James , age 59 of Caldwell, OH passed away Thursday Afternoon (Sept. 11, 2008) at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 12, 1949 in Columbus, OH a son of the late Judge Edmund G. and Helen Wells James. Tom served and protected our nation as a Warrant Officer 2nd Class Helicopter Pilot in Vietnam, receiving many Medals including 2 Distinguished Flying Crosses and a Bronze Star. He was a member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church and the Caldwell VFW Post #4721. He was the owner and operator of James & Donohew Real Estate Services in Caldwell. He enjoyed any activity outdoors, whether it be fishing , hunting or simply building things. Surviving are 2 Sons Tommy (Sara) James of Charleston, S.C. and Derek Thomas James of Caldwell; Daughter Jenny Lori of Caldwell; 2 Grandchildren Jett James Lori and Josie Lynn Lori both of Caldwell; Brother Edmund G. (Debra) James Jr. of Marco Island, FL; His children's mother Cherie J. (Robert) Pickering of Caldwell. Also survived by a niece and many friends. Friends will be received Monday (Sept. 15, 2008) from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, Ohio 43724 with a Vigil Service held at 8:00 pm. A Funeral Liturgy, with Mass, will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Caldwell, with Rev. Father Wayne Morris as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Caldwell, where the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations will conduct military graveside services.
