Thomas F. Gildow

Thomas F. Gildow age 64, of Lancaster, OH formerly of Macksburg, OH passed away Wednesday March 20, 2013 at the Ohio State Medical Center in Columbus, OH. He was born March 31, 1948 in Zanesville, OH a son of the late Frank and Wilma "Kim" Hayes Gildow. Tom was a 1967 Graduate of Caldwell High School and went on to serve and protect his nation in the US Army. He was a member of the VFW Post #5108 in Marietta, OH and the American Legion Post #11 in Lancaster. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 5 brothers Charles, John, Dick, Bill and Bobby Shilling; 2 sisters Virginia and Mary Ann Gildow and a Daughter-In-Law Angela Gildow. He was loved and will be missed by his family, son Thomas F. Gildow II of Lancaster; grandson Justin Gildow of Lancaster; 2 brothers Jim (Marilyn) Gildow of Macksburg and Wayne (Martha) Shilling of Whipple, OH; 1 sister Janet (Pat) Stover of Waterford, OH. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends. Friends will be received Sunday March 24, 2013 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A funeral service will be held Monday March 25, 2013 at 10:00 AM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. William Pickenpaugh officiating. Cremation will follow, with the inurnment held at Lund Cemetery in Macksburg, at a later date.
