Life Legacy Sylvester E. Jackson, age 101 of Caldwell, OH passed away Thursday, November 11th, 2010 at the Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center in Cambridge, OH. He was born December 3rd, 1908 in Radley, KS a son of the late James Henry and Rhoda Josephine Hankins Jackson. Sylvester retired from the Central Ohio Coal Company in 1979. He along with his wife Dorothy owned and operated the J-Burger Bar in Caldwell from 1957 to 1987. Sylvester often enjoyed woodworking in his shop and traveling whenever he got the chance. He was Methodist by faith. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Dorothy E. Jackson, whom he married December 22nd, 1935 and who passed away January 16th, 2006; 1 Sister Reba Duggan; 4 Brothers Sam, Fred, Elmer and Andy Jackson; Great-Grandson Adam D. Bender. He will be missed by his family, two Sons Kenneth (Joan) Jackson of Caldwell and Marvin (Grace) Jackson of Columbus; 5 Grandchildren Tressa Jackson of Derwent, OH, Veronica (Eric) Bender of Caldwell, Jenifer Jackson of Gaysport, OH, Matthew E. (Maggie) Jackson of High Point, N.C. and Timothy A. Jackson of Charleston, SC; 10 Great-Grandchildren and 6 Great-Great-Grandchildren; 1 Sister Wilma Schneider of Pittsburg, KS. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends. Friends will be received Friday, November 12th, 2010 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, Ohio 43724. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday at 1:00 PM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Cooper Officiating. Burial will follow in Olive Cemetery in Caldwell.
