Susan Doudna

Henrietta Susanna Vaal Doudna age 96 of Caldwell went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Summit Acres Skilled Nursing and Rehab in Caldwell. She was born October 4, 1917 in St. Meinrad, IN, a daughter of the late Henry J. and Susanna A. Vaal.

Susan will be remembered as a woman of great faith, who ministered with her husband faithfully for many years at the Dudley and Manchester Churches. She influenced many youth as a Sunday School Teacher. She was a member of the New Life Church Fellowship in Caldwell. She was a great seamstress, making all of her childrens clothing. She loved being a homemaker and mother, caring for her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Dr. S. J. Doudna whom she married June 8th 1938 and who passed away January 16, 1979, 1 Daughter Sharon Cetorelli; 1 Sister and 7 Brothers.

She was loved and will be missed by her family; 6 Daughters Patricia H. (Robert) Pugh of Barlow, OH, Norma J. (Jerry) Porter, Henrietta S. (Larry) Morris, Evangeline (Robert) Crum and Irma Yurco all of Caldwell and Pamela Barnett of Cambridge; 2 Sons Dr. Stephen (Sandra) Doudna of Quaker City and Pastor Timothy (Kathleen) Doudna of Caldwell; Son-In-Law Rev. Randy Cetorelli of Cambridge; 26 Grandchildren; 49 Great Grandchildren; 4 Great-Great Grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.

Friends will be received Friday December 13, 2013 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A funeral service will be held Saturday December 14 at 11:00 AM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Cetorelli officiating. Burial will follow in Olive Cemetery in Caldwell.
