Shelby Lynn Farkas

Shelby Lynn Farkas age 54, of Caldwell, OH formerly of Kent, OH passed away Thursday, May 9, 2019 as a result of an auto accident. She was born July 29, 1964 in Kent a daughter of Marilyn (Bill) Knights of Caldwell and Terry (Laurie) McBroom of Charlotte, NC.

She was a 1982 graduate of the Theodore Roosevelt High School in Kent. She was a Registered Nurse working in the Emergency Room at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center in Cambridge. For many years she enjoyed riding horses, riding ATVs, traveling, and swimming at the beach. She was a great cook and enjoyed feeding people, attending sporting events, online shopping and correcting other peoples grammar. She will always be remembered as a person that loved life and most of all her family!

She is preceded in death by her father-in-law Carl Daley.

In addition to her parents, those left to cherish her memory are her husband Ernest L. Farkas whom she married August 24, 1996; 2 daughters Ellyn (Zac Gadd) Mazzola and Audrey Farkas both of Caldwell; son Brody Farkas of Caldwell; 2 brothers Michael (Darcy) France and Christopher (Rachael) France all of Kent; mother-in-law Patricia Daley of Lakewood, OH; 2 sisters-in-law Sue (Don Kirby) Farkas of North Olmsted, OH and Danielle Daley of Cleveland; nieces- Taylor Kirby, Alyssa Kirby and Lynnae Farkas, nephews- Zach Kirby, Michael France and Dominic France. She is also survived by many friends.

The family will receive friends for visitation Monday, May 13, 2019 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gary Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will follow in Ogles Ridge Cemetery near Middleburg, OH.

Memorial contributions may be directed in Shelbys memory to the Shelby Farkas Fund, c/o The Peoples Savings Bank, PO Box #114, Lower Salem, OH 45745 to assist youth in need through basketball or the Ohio Concerns of Police Survivors, 130 S. Broad Street, Lancaster, OH 43130.
