Samuel D. Sanford

Samuel Donovan Sanford age 57, of Caldwell, OH passed away Thursday, May 3, 2018 at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, OH. He was born August 19, 1960 in Canton, OH a son of Jeannette McCune Sanford of Caldwell and the late Richard G. Sanford.

Sam was a 1978 graduate of the Morgan High School in McConnelsville, OH. He was an avid outdoorsman, he could often be found fishing or hunting for wild mushrooms. He loved to attend auctions and his group meets.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by a sister Susan Sanford.

Those left to cherish his memory, in addition to his mother are his wife Deborah Stellfox Sanford, whom he married May 27, 2016; 2 step-children Sarah (Justin) Rolston of Reynoldsburg, OH and Ben (Laura) Cochran of Ashville, OH; 5 step-grandchildren Noah, Leah, Mariah, Ezra, and Colbie; siblings Jim Sanford of Caldwell, Janie (Jerry) Atha of Camden, OH, Jason Sanford of Caldwell, Duane (Vicki) Moore of Stockport, OH, Debbie (Chris) Cook of Florida, Dale Moore of Stockport, Dean Moore of Ava, OH, and Diane LaMar of Indiana; 2 dogs Sadie & Sassy. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive friends for visitation Monday, May 7, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A funeral service will conclude visitation Monday, May 7, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. William Pickenpaugh officiating. Burial will follow in Dudley Cemetery, south of Caldwell.
