Thaddeus "Sam" Samuel Currey age 60 of Dexter City, OH passed away Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010 at the Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta, OH. Sam was born August 31st, 1949 in Doddridge County, WV a son of the late Thaddeus S. and Florence May Ney Currey. Sam served and protected his nation in the US Army, stationed in Japan. He was a Rural Mail Carrier working out of the Caldwell Post Office for over 25 years. Sam enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards. He was a member of the Caldwell Moose Lodge #221 and American Legion Post #168 in Barnesville. Sam gave the gift of life by being an Organ Donor. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a sister Pansy Owens. He is survived by his wife Marjorie O. LePage Currey of the home, whom he married November 11th, 1989; Two Sisters Elizabeth "June" (Raymond) Paulley of Opperman, OH and Sarah (Randy) Whetstone of Cumberland; One Brother Edward (Pauline) Currey of Cambridge, OH; 2 Special Nieces Amanda and Jessica Woods. He also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends. Friends will be received Saturday, February 6th, 2010 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. The Funeral Service will follow visitation at 7:00 PM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Steve McGuire Officiating. In keeping with Sam's wishes cremation will follow the services at the Funeral Home.
