Life Legacy Sally Lynn Parrish Cornett, age 61, of Cumberland, Kentucky, passed away Friday, November 27, 2009, at the Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital following a brief illness. She was a prominent business owner and operator of Cornett Electronics in Cumberland, Kentucky and was a devoted member of the Cumberland United Methodist Church. She was born on April 2, 1948, unto the union of the late Joseph and Martha Parrish. She is survived by her husband, Thomas D. Cornett of Cumberland, Kentucky, one daughter, Sarah (Mark) Saylor and a son, Joseph Cornett both of Cumberland, Kentucky, one step-daughter, Crystal Alcorn of Georgetown, Kentucky, three sisters: Kristi Close & Jody Parrish both of Caldwell, Ohio and Sandy Eardley of Sugarloaf Key, Florida. Two grandchildren, Kailie Jackson and Andrea Saylor. Visitation will be held Monday, November 30, 2009, at the Cumberland Valley Funeral Home beginning at 12 noon with funeral services beginning at 2 p.m., with Rev. Greg Shannon officiating. Burial will follow in the Cornett Family Cemetery at Linefork, KY. Pallbearers will be: Allen Layne, Jered Boggs, Fess Eldridge, Tristan Curry, Mark Saylor, Frank Howard and Tyler Cornett. Cumberland Valley Funeral Home in Cumberland, Kentucky entrusted with arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Red Bird Methodist Mission, 70 Queendale Center, Beverly, KY 40913 or Cumberland United Methodist Church, 102 Frazier St., Cumberland, KY 40823.
