Ruth Marie Lawrence

Ruth Marie Handschumacher Lawrence, age 91, of Caldwell, OH passed away peacefully Thursday morning, June 2, 2011 at the Summit Acres Nursing & Rehab in Caldwell. Ruth was born July 16, 1919 in Caldwell, a daughter of the late Albert and Katherine Biehl Handschumacher. Ruth was a graduate of Caldwell High School, class of 1937, and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Caldwell, though she attended Keith United Methodist Church, near the family farm, for many years. She was active in Sharon Grange and had been a member of the Farm Bureau Council. Ruth was a member of the Good Neighbors quilting club for over 50 years. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years George Lawrence whom she married January 13, 1943 and who passed November 19, 1997; two brothers, Carl & Roy Handschumacher; one sister-in-law, Ruth Handschumacher and one great-grandson Gavin Patrick Clark. She will be greatly missed by her family: two daughters Jean (Ray) Krusinski of Darien, IL and Beth (Phil) Chandler of Caldwell; one son, David (Diana) Lawrence of Caldwell. Six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren: Ashley (Asa) & Amelia Plum; Kurt (Melissa), Jonathon, Grace and Brody Chandler; Jason (Megan) and Karsey Chandler; Carrie (Josh) and Riley Clark; Sarah (Doug) and Earah Reed; and Matt (Tasha), Hayden, and Paxtyn Lawrence. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Clarice Cisler of Elon, NC and Rose Lawrence of Caldwell, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Friends will be received Sunday, June 5th, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A funeral service will be held Monday at 10:00 am in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Phillips Officiating. Burial will follow in Sharon Cemetery in Sharon, OH.
