Roy H. Mason, age 100 of Lower Salem, OH passed away Wednesday, August 29th, 2012 at the Summit Acres Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Caldwell, OH. He was born September 26th, 1911 in Garfield, W.V. a son of the late George and Minnie Showalter Mason. Roy served and protected his nation in the US Army during WWII. He fought alongside General George S. Patton in the historic US Third Army. He was a member of the Dexter City American Legion Post #418 and the Elk Grange. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a Brother Fred Mason and a Sister Mae Crum. He is survived by his neighbors and friends Cindy and Doug Love of Lower Salem. A Military Graveside service will be conducted Friday, August 31st, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the Harriettsville Cemetery by Noble County Veteran Service Organizations, with inurnment to follow. Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724 has been entrusted to care for the family.
