Roy L. Hupp

Roy L. Hupp age 79, of Caldwell, OH passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his LOVING family Thursday, September 20, 2018. He was born February 5, 1939 in Marietta, OH a son of the late Archie and Freda Gibson Hupp.

Roy was a 1956 graduate of the Salem Liberty High School. He went on to serve and protect his nation in the US Army from 1961 to 1968. He retired as a supervisor following 33 years of service, from the former Ohio Power, having worked at the Muskingum River Plant. He was a member of the Caldwell VFW Post #4721 and Lowell American Legion Post #750. He was a life member of the National Rifle Association and the Ohio Gun Collectors Association. He enjoyed meeting his buddies every Thursday at McDonalds. He always said his greatest accomplishment was taking care of his family.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by an infant daughter Christina Hupp.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Ingrid Hupp, whom he married March 15, 1965 in Frankfurt, Germany; 2 daughters Anita Miller of Caldwell and Reta Crum of Elizabethtown, KY; 3 grandchildren Nicole Miller, Sydney Crum, and Matthew Crum; 1 brother Roger E. Hupp of Lowell, OH; extended family living in Germany. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and neighbors.

The family will receive friends for visitation Sunday, September 23, 2018 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A funeral service will conclude visitation Sunday, September 23, 2018 at 3:00 PM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. William Pickenpaugh officiating. Military honors will follow the funeral service conducted by the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations. A private inurnment will be held at a later date at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Lowell.
