Life Legacy
Rosetta M. Crum, age 84 of Caldwell, OH passed away Friday Evening, January 13th, 2012 at Summit Acres Skilled Nursing & Rehab. She was born May 1st, 1927 in Noble County, OH a daughter of the late Harry and Martha Crum Williams.
Rosetta was a member of the Crum Ridge Church of Christ and attended the Summerfield Church of Christ. She was a 1946 graduate of the former Summerfield High School. She was a 4-H advisor for over 20 years and set on the Election Board for many years. In her free time Rosetta enjoyed quilting. She held numerous jobs throughout her lifetime. Following her husband*s passing she moved to Texas and opened a Cafe, she operated for several years. In addition to being a Foster Parent, she was a Relief House Parent at the High Plains Children*s Home in Amarillo, TX and also for the Lubbock Children*s Home in Lubbock, TX. Rosetta managed hotels in Dalhart, TX, Texline, TX and eventually retired as the manager of a motel in Raton, NM. In her later years she enjoyed sitting and reminiscing about her life on the farm.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Harley A. Crum, whom she married August 23rd, 1947 and who passed June 26th, 1984; 2 Sisters Irene Morris and Fern Antill.
She is survived by 3 Daughters Donna J. Crum of Texline, TX, Sandra K. (Roger) Presnell of Caldwell and Marilyn S. (David) White of Cambridge, OH; 1 Son Lewis E. (Gale) Crum of Texline, TX; 8 Grandchildren Matt A. (Lindsay) Mackie, Chad E. Presnell, Julie (Dana Hill) Presnell, Jason E. (Jennifer) Mackie, Amanda H. (Brandon) Embry, Samantha M. (Jonathan) Henley, Tyrel A. Crum and Thomas J. White; 13 Great Grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.
Friends will be received Sunday, January 15th, 2012 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A Funeral Service will be held Monday, January 16th, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Ronald Rossiter Officiating, burial will follow in Crum Ridge Cemetery.
