Roger Kay Shreve

Roger Kay Shreve age 80, of Sarahsville, OH passed away Friday, March 6, 2026 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born August 27, 1945 in Ritchie County, WV son of the late Ned Olen and Chessie Alan Edwards Shreve.

He served his Nation in the U.S. Army National Guard. He was a member of the Belle Valley American Legion Post 641. Roger was most at peace spending time farming. He also enjoyed making good conversation with everyone he met.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sons Jamie Ben Shreve, Julian Lynn Shreve, and Ned A. Shreve; brother Ned Shreve Jr.; sisters Beulah Rice and Jenny Jewell.

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved partner Brenda Kay Wise; children Missy (Arthur) Payne of Greenwood, WV, Lee (Shelli) Shreve of Sarahsville, OH, Kayla (James) Buckey of Caldwell, and Tracy (Joshua) Wise of Parkersburg, WV; grandchildren Trista Lucas, Macey (Tony) Dingus, Jamie (Karrie) Shreve, Sarah (Titus) Robinson, Ryan (Hannah) Payne, Rachel (John) Andrews, Stephen (Santana) Shreve, Sabrina Shreve, Collin Shreve, James and Bennett Buckey; several great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Carrie Shreve; Julian Shreve’s Companion Cindy Stottsberry; sisters Jo Wood of Calais, OH and Crystal (Danny) Hayes of Paden City, WV; his cat and companion Roger Jr. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends for visitation Friday, March 13, 2026 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 11:00 AM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Stephen Hannum officiating and Guy Carpenter offering the eulogy. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery located in Josephs Mills, WV, where he will be laid to rest with his parents.
