Biography

Rodger Dale McKown age 62, of Dungannon, OH passed away Monday, October 10th, 2011 at the VA Medical Center in Dayton, OH. He was born December 31st, 1948 in Lowell, OH a son of the late Oval and Hazle Parsons McKown. Rodger drove semi every since the age of 16. He served and protected his Nation in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the DAV Pioneer City Chapter #52, Marietta, OH and the American Legion of Ohio. He was an avid farmer and enjoyed working with his mules. Everyone that knew him knew he loved his Allis-Chalmers Tractors. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a Daughter Sara Howell, 3 Grandchildren, a Son-In-Law, 1 Sister and 1 Brother. He will be missed by his family, Wife Rose Marie Mallett McKown of the home, whom he married March 9th, 1974; 5 Daughters Tina (Larry) Linton of Bealsville, OH, Tammy (Brad) Warner of Summerfield, OH, Luecretia (Brian) Warner of Caldwell, Amanda White of New Martinsville, WV and Alice (Jamie) Barnes of Dungannon; 1 Son Steven McKown fo Dungannon; 10 Grandchildren; 2 Great Grandchildren; 4 Brothers. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends. Friends will be received Wednesday, October 12th, 2011 from 3:00PM to 8:00PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday at 1:00 PM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. William Pickenpaugh Officiating. Burial will follow at Ogle's Ridge Cemetery in Middleburg, where the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations will conduct military graveside services.
