Robert “Bob” R. Baker age 95, of Caldwell, OH passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at his son’s home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 7, 1930 in Portland, OH, son of the late Russell E. and Nellie Bush Baker.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and making crafts. Bob served and protected his nation in the United States Army, serving in the Korean War. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with all of his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Betty L. Hannum Baker, whom he married July 12, 1953 and who passed February 8, 2009; six sisters Virginia Wilkos, Marie Church, Gladys Moore, Sarah Anderson, Iva Jane Dovenbarger and Nancy Seevers; four brothers Clinton Raymond Baker, William Arthur Baker, Richard E. “Dick” Baker and Russell Baker Jr.

Those left to cherish his memory are his three sons Tom (Connie) Baker of Lower Salem, OH, Kevin Baker of New Concord, OH, and Jack (Karen) Baker of Caldwell; grandchildren Arrissa Baker, Shane (Shanae) Baker, Jenna (Tim Francis) Baker, Megan Baker, Mariah (Brad) Densmore, Kyle (Kayla) Baker, Tyler (Barbie Reed) Baker, and Tanner (Vanessa) Baker; great-grandchildren Cayden Rucker, Grantlee Hull, Sharlett Baker, Timothy Francis, Oaklynn Francis, Colton Baker, Emma Baker, Braxton Baker, Liliana Rivera, Emilia Rivera, Rhys Densmore, Chandler Densmore and Talin Densmore; special nephews Bud and Rusty and niece Diane Fry. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends for visitation Friday, April 3, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street Caldwell, OH 43724. A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 4, 2026 at 1:00 PM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Hoskinsville Cemetery, near Belle Valley, OH where he will be laid to rest next to his wife Betty. Noble County Veterans Service Organization will render honors at the graveside.
