Richard 'Dick' B. Bailey Sr.

Richard "Dick" B. Bailey, age 81, of Caldwell, Ohio passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at the Muskingum Skilled Nursing & Rehab in Beverly, OH. He was born November 16, 1934 in Narrows, VA the only son of the late William "Mack" and Zella Irene French Bailey.

He was a member of the First Church of Christ in Caldwell where he had previously served as Deacon, Choir Director and Sunday School Teacher. Dick was an avid hunter, coached Little League Football and served on the Caldwell Volunteer Fire Department for several years. He retired from American Electric Power, where he worked for many years as a Coal Purchaser.

Those left to cherish his memory, are his wife of 61 years Lorraine McKinney Bailey, whom he married March 22, 1955; 3 sons Rick (Debbie) Bailey Jr. of Caldwell, Mike (Fran) Bailey of Zanesville, OH and David Bailey of Zanesville; 2 daughters Lisa (Doug) Copen of Newark and Amy (Shon) Miller of Caldwell; 7 grandchildren Karen Bailey, Travis Bailey, Nikki (Joe) Chandler, Korie Balderson, Bailey Miller, Blake Miller and Charlie (Eden) Norton; 4 great-grandchildren Ericka Postel, Christopher Chandler, Briar Chandler and Macy Norton. He is also survived by several friends.

The family will receive friends Thursday, June 23, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A funeral service will be held Friday, June 24, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Dale Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in the Olive Cemetery in Caldwell.
