Paul Leroy Wells

Paul Leroy Wells age 84, of Caldwell, OH passed away Monday, June 16, 2014 surrounded by his family at the Summit Acres Skilled Nursing and Rehab in Caldwell. He was born January 9, 1930 in Olive Township a son of the late Ernest L. "Bob" and Naomi Combs Wells.

On October 21, 1955 he married Ruth Baker and went to housekeeping on their farm near Sharon. Paul served his country in the United States Army, serving two years in the Korean War. He was a carpenter by trade and spent many years raising cattle and hogs. He also worked as a mechanic for L & H Tractor Sales. In his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as visiting with family, friends and neighbors. Paul spent hours watching the squirrels, birds and other wildlife from his window.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 2 brothers Earl and Delmer Wells; 2 sisters-in-law Nina Wells and Shirley Wells.

Paul is survived by his wife of 58 years Ruth Baker Wells; 3 sons Jake (Brenda) Wells, Frank (Debbie) Wells and Ernie (Tammy) Wells; 2 daughters Janice (Stanley) Archer and Barbara (Doug) Purdum; Grandchildren Chris (Brooke) Wells, Jessica (Jonathan) Barnes, Michael (Shelley) Gibson, Brandi (Adam) Martin, Beth Ann Gibson, Kenny (Sarah Beth) Wells, Sarah Jo Wells, James (Katie) Archer, Matthew (Jamie) Archer, Ashley Fecat, Nicholas Wells and Danielle (Ryan) Moore; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers Robert Wells of Dunganon, OH and Russell (Nellie) Wells of Sharon, OH; sister-in-law Minnie Wells of Chesterhill, OH. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.

Friends will be received Wednesday, June 18, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, June 19, 2014 in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Dudley Cemetery near Caldwell
