Mildred Marie Ackley

Mildred Marie Schott Ackley, age 96, of Caldwell, OH passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at Altercare Summit Acres in Caldwell. She was born September 4, 1927 in Caldwell, a daughter of the late Henry U. and Laura E. Zwick Schott.

She was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Caldwell and the C.W.C. Mildred enjoyed quilting, gardening, and working puzzles. She will always be remembered as a loving grandmother, who loved spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband James R. Ackley whom she married June 11, 1947 and whom passed November 23, 2005; infant daughter Linda Marie; infant grandson David Nicholas Ackley; brothers infant Henry Urban Schott Jr., Paul Schott, and Robert Schott; sisters Dolores Archer, Beulah Cardarelli, Pauline Schafer, and Betty Oertle.

Those left to cherish her memory are two daughters Patty (Ron) Dimmerling of Sarahsville and Pam (Don) Bickford of Cumberland, OH; four sons Jim (Charlene) Ackley of Plymouth, MN, Jeff (Debra) Ackley of Zanesville, OH, Rick (Angela) Ackley of Caldwell, and Dave (Theresa) Ackley of Caldwell; grandchildren Brad (Karrie) Bickford, Adam and Chad Bickford, Joe (Mallory) Dimmerling, Cathi (Scott) Trenner, Steven Dimmerling, Josh (Crystal) Ackley, Ashley (Chad) Scott, Jennifer (Chuck) Norris, Justin (Deanna) Ackley, Jessica (Bryant) Laris, Mariah (Austin) McPeek, Mason, Molly, and Matthew Ackley, Jamieson (Annie) Ackley, Jaret and Joel Ackley; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister Marilyn (Tim) Fleming of Orcas Island, WA. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends for visitation Sunday, February 11, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724, with a Rosary service concluding visitation at 5:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, February 12, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1036 Belford St, Caldwell, OH 43724, with Rev. Fathers Thomas Nelson, Dale Tornes, and David Huffman serving as concelebrants. Following the funeral mass Mildred will be laid to rest next to her husband James in the Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery.
