Michael Ray Cross

Michael Ray Cross age 59, of Cambridge, OH succumbed after a six-month battle with brain cancer Saturday, May 23, 2020 at the Cambridge Health & Rehab Center in Cambridge, under the care of Hospice of Guernsey Inc. He was born June 9, 1960 in Cambridge the son of Loretta J. Cross (John) Downer with whom he lived and the late Ernest Ray Cross.

He was an avid storyteller, die-hard Cleveland Browns fan and openhearted friend to his south-side neighbors, whom he was always willing to help. He enjoyed fishing, drawing, music, gardening, and cooking for his family.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by an Uncle Thomas Hackett as well as several grandparents, aunts, and uncles.

Those left to cherish his memory, in addition to his mother are sister Shari L. (Art) Hayes of Cambridge; 2 sons William and Christopher Ward and their mother Heidi all of Ashtabula, OH; 2 nephews Robert Marshall of New Concord, OH and Evan (Journey) Hayes of Holly Ridge, NC; a great-niece Jocelyn M. Marshall of New Concord; aunt Barbara Hackett; 6 cousins from Cleveland, OH with whom he was very close; special friends Debbie Riggs and Delores Kovacik.

In honoring Michaels wishes cremation will be observed, with no additional services held at this time.
