Biography Marlene M. Seevers Stottsberry, age 68, of Massillon, died Saturday, June 17, 2006, at the Hospice Care Center in Akron, Ohio. Marlene was born February 6, 1938 in Byesville, OH a daughter of the late Virgil and Dorothy Stevens Seevers. Marlene was a resident of Canton for 15 years and a resident of Massillon for 35 years.
Marlene joyfully worked for over 20 years at Tri-County Orthopedic Surgeons as its accounting and data processing manager. She was past President of the Women's Association of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Akron, past President of the Greater Canton Writer's Guild and a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. She was an avid birdwatcher, enjoyed writing, particularly children's stories and poetry. Her love of animals and her generous spirit, were well known by friends and family.
She is survived by her husband James Stottsberry of the home whom she married Aug. 27th, 1955; Daughter Teri (Doug) Young of Mountain View, CA; Brother Thomas (Nancy) Seevers of Ava, OH; Grandson D.C. Young of Mountain View, CA and many loving relatives and friends.
Friends will be received Tuesday (June 20, 06) from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, Ohio 43724. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Nancy Arnold Officiating. Burial will follow at Halley's Ridge Cemetery in Ava, OH.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday (June 24, 2006) at 11:00 AM at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Akron, 3300 Morewood Road, Akron, OH 44333 with Rev. Nancy Arnold Officiating.
