Larry W Sanford

Larry W. Sanford, age 73 of Dexter City, OH, passed away Thursday, evening June 18, 2009 at his residence. He was born February 13th, 1936 in Dexter City a son of the late Howard and Freda Barnhart Sanford. He served and protected his nation in the National Guard. He attended the New Harmony Baptist Church in Moundsville, OH and was a member of the American Legion Post #750 in Lowell. He was a meat cutter by trade and owned Larry's "Big Red" Meat Market in Lowell. He eventually retired from International Converter Inc. located in Caldwell. Larry was a faithful fan of the Otterbein College Women's Basketball Program. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and also enjoyed sitting on his porch swing. He will always be remembered by his family for his bottomless cookie jar. In addition to his parents Larry is preceded in death by 3 Sisters Marjorie McCalla, Mary Jean Bird and Patricia Hanson; 3 Brothers Robert, William and Richard Sanford. Surviving are 2 Daughters Debbie (Tim) Schott of Caldwell and Connie (Clete) Richardson of Westerville; 2 Sons Ronnie (Marsha) Sanford of Elba and Jeff (Lisa) Sanford of Dexter City; 11 Grandchildren Jared Schott, Adam (Stephanie) Schott, Nick and Hannah Richardson, Melissa Fogle, Joshua (Nicole) Fogle, Tiffany (Josh) Kehl, Zachary Sanford, Caleb, Halle and Gracie Sanford; 2 Great Grandsons Dylan Schott and Brant Fogle and his children's Mother Marilyn Ball of Canton. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends. Friends will be received Monday, June 22, 2009 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. The Funeral Service will be held Tuesday at 1:00 PM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor Mark Leslie Officiating. Burial will follow in Dudley Cemetery, where the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations will conduct Military Graveside Services.
