Larry ' Phil ' Davis

Larry 'Phil' Davis, age 75, of Caldwell passed away Tuesday October 20, 2015 at his home. He was born in South Olive on June 8, 1940 a son of the late Foster B. and Ernestine J. McManis Davis. He attended Dexter City High school, was a veteran of the Ohio National Guard, a retired truck driver and an avid bluegrass music fan.

Phil enjoyed his time going to blue grass festivals, camping and spending time with family and friends. He was also a member of the Good Old Buzzards which meets in 'Jim's Garage" on Thursday mornings.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 42 years Caroline Davis; step-son William 'Bill' (Rita) Wilson of Caldwell; step-daughters Suzan (Bill) Johnson of Frazeysburg and Kathy (Rick) Norviel of West Liberty, OH; grandsons Michael (Melinda) Sayre of Caldwell, William 'Bill' (Kathy) Sayre of Norwich, Ryan (Danielle) Wilson of Caldwell, and Matthew Norviel of West Liberty; granddaughters Jennifer (Tony) Norviel of Leesburg, VA and Cassie (Chuck) Wessenburger of Newark, OH; three great-grandsons Michael Rohrbaugh, Marshal Sayre and William Wilson; three great-granddaughters Madison Sayre, Willow Wilson and Caydance Wessenburger; one great-great-grandson Marcus Rohrbaugh.

The family will receive friends Thursday, October 22, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A funeral service will be held Friday, October 23, 2015 at 1:00 PM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Ken Ogg and Pastor Tim Thomas co-officiating. Burial will follow in the Sharon Cemetery in Sharon, OH, with military graveside services conducted by the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations.
