Kenneth V. Ziler

Kenneth V. "Butch" Ziler age 65, of Caldwell, OH passed away Friday, January 10, 2014 at Summit Acres Nursing & Rehab in Caldwell. He was born April 28, 1948 in Marietta, OH a son of the late Kenneth E. "Red" and Marilyn Kiehl Ziler.

Butch was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Caldwell. He served and protected his country in the US Army in the Vietnam War. He was a tool salesman for MAC Tools for many years. He was previously employed for B & N Coal in Dexter City, OH and Quinn Development in St. Clairsville, OH. He was a pilot and had a passion for flying. He was a loving father and his favorite times were those spent with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter Chrissy Ziler Mincks; 2 grandchildren Isaiah Daniel Nigh and Allison Elizabeth Nigh; father-in-law and mother-in-law William and Mary Michel and grandparents Ivan and Lois Ziler.

He was loved and will be missed by his family, wife Alice Michel Ziler, whom he married August 9, 1969; 3 daughters Ann (Jeff) Bowen of Caldwell, Susan E. Ziler of East Canton and Julie M. Ziler of Caldwell; 4 grandchildren Dominic Mincks, Matt and Emily Bowen and Raegan McBride. He is also survived by his beloved dog Buttons.

Friends will be received Monday January 13, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724, with a Vigil Service at 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday January 14, 2014 at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Caldwell, with Rev. Father Wayne Morris serving as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Caldwell, with military graveside services conducted by the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations.
