Life Legacy On Thursday, March 25th, 2010, Kay Joyce Postlethwait has gone home. However, this is not a time to be sad, it is a time to rejoice and remember the good times. It was a long hard fight, but Kay is now happy because she has joined family and old friends and all the angels in Heaven. Kay had many interests and some of her favorites were quilting at home and at the East Union Store with some of her friends. She liked working in her yard and always had something to do around the house. She felt especially blessed when she could spend time with her sisters. Kay was a beautician and made many friends while working in her shop at home. She was a Non-Denominational Christian and long time member of The Shepherds Chapel studying The Bible with Pastor Arnold Murray. Kay also attended and was a member of the East Union United Methodist Church. She loved singing the hymns. Kay was also a former Band Club President for the Shenandoah High School Band. Kay was born at home in Chesapeake, West Virginia on November 6th, 1937 to the late Jessie Seybert and Goldie Turley Cooper. In addition to her parents Kay was also preceded in death by her husband Donald Edward Postlethwait who was born December 25th, 1927 and passed August 29th, 1995, whom she married December 14, 1953; Brother Gordon Cooper; Three Sisters Hilda Faye Parmies, Vickie Hudnall and Patricia Postlethwait. Kay is survived by Son Larry E. (Lori Lee) Postlethwait of East Union and their children Daniel, Sarah (Fiance Bayhas Kana) and Matthew; Daughter Teresa K. Bach of St. Mary's, WV and her children Brandon, Jordon, Mallory and Lacey; Son Monte Postlethwait of Ashville, NC; Two Sisters Joan (Bernard) Fetty of Charleston, WV and Lula "Tinie" Postlethwait of Huntington, WV. A special nephew who was raised as a brother Jerry Cooper of San Antonio, TX as well as several additional nieces, nephews and friends. In accordance with Kay's wishes cremation will be observed. Friends will be received Monday, March 29th, 2010 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday at 1:00 PM at the East Union United Methodist Church with long time friend and Pastor Helen Lewis Officiating. Inurnment will follow in the East Union Cemetery.
