John A Perkins

John Allen Perkins age 62 of Caldwell, OH passed away Monday, May 21, 2012 at the Summit Acres Skilled Nursing and Rehab in Caldwell, OH. John was born January 6th, 1950 in Barnesville, OH a son of the late Starling M. and Blanche I. Thomas Perkins. While residing with his parents, John lived in several locations including Belmont, Summerfield and Barnesville, until their death. In the later years, he lived with this brother, Tom, for two years before he finally became a resident of the Summit Acres Skilled Nursing & Rehab. He enjoyed attending every activity that the Nursing Home provided. He was a member of the Caldwell United Methodist Church in Caldwell. He loved working jigsaw puzzles. He will always be remembered for his unique ability to remember everyone's name and for his beautiful smile and his big brown eyes. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by an Aunt Mary Elizabeth Thomas; 2 Uncles Roland Perkins and Louis Thomas; Cousin Robert Perkins. He was loved and will be missed by his family, Brother Thomas M. Perkins of Caldwell; Aunt Olga Mae Perkins of Pickerington, OH; Cousins George Perkins of Circleville, OH, Donna Racette of Pickerington, David Perkins of Gahanna, OH, David Thomas of Santa Barbara, CA, Joe Thomas of Ithaca, NY and Dan Thomas of Toledo, OH. He is also survived by several 2nd and 3rd generation cousins and several additional relatives and friends. Friends will be received Thursday May 24th, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A Funeral Service will be held Friday May 25th, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Caldwell United Methodist Church, 537 Main Street, Caldwell, Ohio 43724, with Pastor Jim Cooper Officiating. A Committal Service and burial will be held at 2:30 PM at the Ebenezer Cemetery in Bethesda, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Caldwell United Methodist Church.
