Joanne Hanson

Joanne Hanson age 81, of Beverly, OH passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at the Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born October 23, 1935 in Keithtown, OH a daughter of the late Glenn Oscar and Wilma L. Fry Waller.

Joanne was a member of the Keith United Methodist Church. She was a beautician owning and operating her own business called the Curlette in Newark, OH. She was active in the O.E.S. for many years as a member of the Aurelius Chapter #60 Order of Eastern Star where she was a Past Worthy Matron, Deputy Grand Matron, and Grand Representative. She also served on her local election board. She enjoyed reading, sewing, baking, and most of all quilting. She was a member of several quilting clubs around the area.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother John Edward Waller.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Vernon R. Hanson, whom she married March 26, 1955; 2 daughters Polly (John) Pisegna of Marietta and Molly (Bill) Shubirg of Newark; 1 son Allan (Jonda) Hanson of Granville, OH; grandchildren John (Sarah) Hanson, Keith (Emilia) Hanson, Bradley Hanson, Sarah Hanson, Mary (Daniel) Greene, Madeline Shubirg, Seth Shubirg, Trent Shubirg, and Janell Pisegna; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters Joyce Gessel of Wooster, OH and Janette (Chris Collins) Waller of Bellflower, CA; sister-in-law Sandra Waller of Austin, TX. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends for visitation Saturday, September 30, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724, an Eastern Star Service will conclude visitation at 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held Sunday, October 1, 2017 at 2:30 PM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Jim Porter officiating. Burial will follow in Olive Cemetery in Caldwell.
