Jim L. Finley

Jim L. Finley age 87, of Caldwell, OH went to be with the Lord peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at his home. He was born May 18, 1936 in Zanesville, OH a son of the late Cecil and Jessie Cunningham Finley.

He served and protected his nation in the US Army with the Armor 24th Division. Jim was a member of the First Baptist Church in Caldwell, where he also enjoyed serving at the Pine Lake Bible Camp. He was a member of the Sharon Lodge #136 F. & A.M. Many remember Jim as the service man for Columbia Gas for over 33 years before his retirement in 1998. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, and farming.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Beatrice "Bea" Kay Charlton Finley, whom he married September 1, 1963 and who passed away June 1, 2020; grandson Jerimiah Finley and brother Ted Finley.

Those left to cherish his memory are his three sons Christoper (Betty) Finley, Matthew (Mel Jenkins) Finley and grand dog Skye, and Andrew (Laurie) Finley; grandchildren Zachary Finley, Monica Finley, Brooke (Craig) Campbell, Levi Finley, Ethan (Abbie) Finley, Erin Finley, and Logan Finley; great-grandchildren Conner Campbell, Brycen Campbell, Charlotte Campbell, Basil Finley, Ellis Finley, and Winnie Finley; brothers Terry (Mary) Finley and Joe (Debbie) Finley; sister-in-law Nancy Finley. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends for visitation Monday, March 25, 2024 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724, with a Masonic Service conducted at 7:30 PM. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Jay Workman officiating. Following the service Jim will be laid to rest in Dudley Cemetery next to his beloved Bea, with military graveside honors conducted by the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations.
