Jerry B. Porter

Jerry B. Porter age 70, of Caldwell, OH passed away Monday, March 30, 2015 at the Summit Acres Skilled Nursing and Rehab, surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 24, 1945 in Zanesville, OH a son of the late Ivan and Bernice Allen Porter.

Jerry had many hobbies, he enjoyed working on classic cars, motorcycling, flying, sailing and participating in shooting sports. Along with his father, Ivan he operated Porters Pennzoil Station in Caldwell for several years. During this time he also served as an EMT for the Caldwell Volunteer Fire Department. He went on to work for Putnam Trucking Company for many years. He retired from the Farmers and Merchants Bank in Caldwell.

Those left to cherish, his memory are, his wife Norma Doudna Porter of the home, whom he married June 7, 1964; 2 sons Bruce Porter of Caldwell and Greg Porter of Kimbolton, OH; 1 daughter Connie (Gary) Zungolo of Caldwell; 1 grandson Anthony Porter. He is also survived by many friends.

The family will receive friends Thursday, April 2, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A funeral service will be held Friday, April 3, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Tim Doudna officiating. Burial will follow in Olive Cemetery in Caldwell.
